What is new in PathDay

Every release, newest first.

Version 2026.4.3

Latest

October 19, 2026. PathDay is ready for iPhone Duo, and Journal entries can now link to your tasks. Read about PathDay on iPhone Duo.

New

  • iPhone Duo: open it and your list sits on one side of the fold with the open task or entry on the other. Closed, a compact editor and side buttons keep things quick. Your screen, open task and unsaved edits carry across a fold
  • Link tasks from a Journal entry with Link Task. Search your tasks or create a new one right there
  • A task lists the Journal entries that mention it, under References

Improvements

  • Deleting a habit you created hides it instead of erasing it. Past days still show it, and you can restore it with its history from Deleted Habits in the Library
  • On the Mac, Today returns to the current day when you come back after 30 minutes away, and a window left on Today overnight moves to the new day. A day you picked yourself stays put

Fixes

  • On iPad, task notes start right under the formatting toolbar instead of partway down the notes box

Version 2026.4.1

October 11, 2026. The Journal comes to iPhone and iPad, and PathDay arrives on the Mac for the first time. Read about the Journal.

New

  • Journal: daily entries with check-in questions, rich text, checklists, photos, categories and #hashtags, plus a calendar and search. Questions can be set for certain days of the week
  • Voice recording for Journal entries and task notes, with optional transcription
  • Dream Journal, off by default. Turn it on in Journal Settings
  • A mini Pomodoro timer inside the task editor
  • Storage, in Settings > Manage Data, shows the photos, recordings and attachments PathDay keeps in iCloud, largest first, so you can free up space

Improvements

  • A cleaner task editor that leads with the task name, with notes that grow as you type
  • Add several tasks in a row: quick entry and the new-task card stay open after saving
  • Web addresses, phone numbers and street addresses in notes and Journal entries become links
  • iPad stays where you left it when you switch away and come back
  • Widgets return to their first page two minutes after your last tap
  • Habits and Mantras get an Add button, and the Journal shows how many check-ins are left today

Fixes

  • PathDay is no longer closed by iOS while syncing with iCloud
  • PathDay tells you when your iCloud storage is full
  • Deleting from All Tasks moves the task to Deleted Tasks instead of erasing it
  • Inbox swipe-to-delete works again
  • Delete All Data now removes everything, including Quadrants, Journal photos and recordings, and pending notifications
  • Hashtags end at punctuation, so “#diet.” becomes the tag “diet”

PathDay for Mac: first release

  • The same complete productivity system you know from iPhone and iPad, built for a larger screen, a keyboard and a mouse, and in sync with your iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch through iCloud
  • Today, Inbox, Tasks, Habits, Mantras, Quadrants, Pomodoro, Journal, Reports and Achievements, with your list on the left and the open task or entry beside it
  • Changes save as you type, with Roll Back to put a task back the way it was
  • Desktop widgets for Today, Habits and Mantras
  • A date picker with Today, Tomorrow, This Weekend and Next Week shortcuts
  • Right-click a task to flag, unflag or delete it, or delete a whole repeating series
  • Add tasks one after another: Return saves and starts the next, Esc finishes
  • Settings in its own window, including Storage

Version 2026.3.16

First release

September 24, 2026. The first release of PathDay. Tasks, the Inbox, habits, focus sessions and the daily mantra practice on one screen, built around a single question: what should I focus on today? Every feature is included, and the app is free.

Tasks

  • A Today view that keeps what is open, what carried over and what you finished in one calm screen
  • Categories, inline #hashtag tags and color-coded priorities
  • Due dates, reminders and recurring tasks
  • Subtasks, notes, photo and file attachments, and audio memos with transcription
  • Search, reports and achievements

Type or say what you mean

  • Write “call the dentist Tuesday at 3, high priority” and PathDay fills in the date, the time and the priority
  • Ask Siri to add a task, or to drop something into your Inbox

Inbox

  • Capture anything in one tap, with no date and no category required
  • Process Inbox clears the whole queue in one pass
  • Schedule, Snooze or set aside for Someday, with snoozed items returning on their own

Habits

  • Five habit types: Simple, Segment, Count, List and Measure, each with its own schedule
  • Streaks and seven-day trend charts
  • Log any past day, so a missed day does not mean starting over
  • Link a habit to Apple Health so it completes itself, or have it write water and mindful minutes back to Health

Focus

  • A Pomodoro timer that keeps cycling until you stop it, or an Open Timer that counts up
  • Live Activity and Dynamic Island on iPhone
  • Focus history for every task

Mantras

  • A daily mindset practice with its own streak
  • Choose from a built-in library or write your own

Coming from TasksDojo or aProDay

Across your devices

  • Native apps for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch
  • Home Screen widgets for Today, Habits and Mantras, with one tap to check a task or log a habit
  • Themes and alternative icon colors
  • Everything syncs through your own private iCloud
